Virat Kohli getting trolled for the day in and day out for the RCB’s team performance in IPL is nothing new. But the controversy gets exploded when the commentators go a step further to drag their wives.
One such similar incident happened on 24th September in the match between RCB and KXIP. Virat Kohli had already dropped 2 crucial catches in the 1st innings. He was under fire as the dropped catches made KXIP score additional 30-40 runs. In the 2nd innings, RCB was reduced to 4/2. Here comes the controversy when Virat Kohli walks in the middle. Sunil Gavaskar, one of the Hindi language commentators for this match, made a statement that didn’t go well with the fans and well-wishers of Virat and Anushka.
Sunil Gavaskar Statement on Virat Kohli
Sunil Gavaskar said,
“Vo (Virat) jaante hai jitni practice kare vo utne behtar ban sakte hai. Ab jo lockdown tha toh sirf Anushka ke bowling ki practice ki unhone. Vo video me dekhi hai. Usse toh kuch nahi banna hai.”
Here’s the Sunil Gavaskar commentary video in which he made a statement on Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli.
This created outrage among the fans and cricket lovers. Many outraged against the former legend. While others came forward to support the statement made by Sunil Gavaskar by saying it was just a normal or any other statement and it should not be taken so seriously.
Anushka Sharma’s “Distasteful” Reply to Sunil Gavaskar
After the controversy became a hot topic and everyone started speaking about it, Anushka Sharma too came forward with her statement, defending herself and her husband Virat Kohli. Anushka gave a befitting reply to Sunil Gavaskar.
Anushka Sharma took Instagram to make her remark on Sunil Gavaskar’s statement. The post was uploaded on Instagram stories. The topic was discussed to an extent that both Sunil Gavaskar and Anushka Sharma started trending on Twitter.
What is your opinion? What do you think about Gavaskar’s statement? Do you think he should have thought for a second before he spoke? Or the statement was just like a regular commentary?
